We offer a broad range of general services here at Rose City Veterinary Hospital for your dog or cat. For more detailed listings of our reproductive and rehabilitation services, please visit those pages.

Annual Exams
A thorough Weighing Inphysical exam given by the Doctor. Required by law for dispensing of medicine and prior to any kind of medical procedure

Wellness Exams
This is a more comprehensive exam, that included bloodwork and a urinalysis. It is recommended for dogs and cats 5 years and older.

Vaccines/Vaccine Titers
Vaccines are for the protection of your dog and cat from specific infections. Core vaccines for dogs are rabies, DA2P (distemper combo), and Parvo. RecoveryAlso recommended is Bordatella for dogs coming into contact with other dogs in kennels, grooming facilities, dog parks, day care and boarding.

For cats, core vaccines are FVRCP (feline combo) for both indoor and outdoor cats, and FELV (feline leukemia) and rabies for outdoor cats.

We also offer the rattlesnake vaccine, Giardia vaccine, Lyme vaccine, and Corona vaccine. Vaccine titers are also available for immune-compromised pets or to prevent over-vaccination.

Dental Exams
Our DentalDoctors routinely inspect our patients’ teeth and gums. Dental cleaning and procedures are recommended yearly to twice-a-year based on each individual patient. Dental care helps prevent tartar build-up, gingivitis, tooth decay, bad breath and pain.

Spay / Neuter
Our doctors routinely perform spays and neuters on dogs and cats. Pain management is an important part of this routine surgery. Anesthesia monitoring by our experienced technicians includes spO2 monitoring, heart monitors and blood pressure monitoring.

General and Laser Surgery
All surgeries are carefully monitored with special equipment such as spO2 monitors, heart monitors and blood pressure monitors. Our surgical tables are heated to prevent heat loss. Pain management is practiced on all of our patients and tailored to each individual patient. We offer the use of C02  laser in many surgical procedures to reduce bleeding and minimize post-op pain

Theraputic Laser
We have added a theraputic laser to our services. The MLS Harmony is the most advanced small animal laser on the market. The breakthrough of the multiwave system offeres greater benefit to the patient that any one wavelength alone. Benefits include intense anti-inflammatory and anti-edemic effects, and also strong analgesic effect.

Endoscopy

Orthopedic Foundation For Animals (OFA)
Our doctors can assist you in obtaining the following certifications for OFA: Hearing, Hip/Elbow/ Patella, Cardiac, and Thyroid.

PennHip

Health Certificates
If you are planning to travel with your cat or dog, we can assist you in obtaining a Domestic or International Health Certificate.

Ultrasounds
Our doctors are trained to use ultrasound technology both for diagnostic procedures and confirming pregnancy.

Digital Radiographs
Our hospital offers state-of-the-art digital radiography. Digital radiography helps increase the safety of our patients and staff. we are able to send radiographs to specialists via the internet on on a CD.

Breeding ID Testing
With a simple blood draw, we work with an outside lab to determine the breed make-up of your dog.
